Debt Review Removal — Pretoria | Gauteng
Pretoria is the seat of national government, and a large share of its workforce earns a fixed state salary — which shapes how debt review usually ends here. We take Tshwane residents off debt review through the two routes the National Credit Act allows, from the CBD and Arcadia to Centurion, Mamelodi, Soshanguve and Pretoria East.
See If You Qualify in PretoriaDebt review removal is not an administrative update. A credit bureau may only remove the flag on a Section 71 clearance certificate or a court order. Anyone offering to "remove the flag overnight" without one of those is operating outside the National Credit Act.

Tshwane has several magistrate's courts — which one is yours?
A court-led removal has to be filed at the magistrate's court with jurisdiction over your address, and Tshwane is split between several: the main Pretoria court in the city centre, and separate courts serving areas such as Pretoria North, Mamelodi, Atteridgeville and Soshanguve. A Section 165 rescission goes back to whichever court granted your original order.
We work out the right court from your address and your paperwork before anything is filed, so the application is not rejected for being in the wrong place.
Government salaries, payroll deductions and leaving debt review
Many Pretoria clients work for national or provincial departments, the City of Tshwane, the SANDF or one of the universities. A fixed, provable salary is the easiest income to put before a magistrate, which makes the court route realistic for public servants whose finances have recovered — after a promotion, a spouse returning to work, or an expensive account being paid off.
Some state employees also repay loans by deduction straight from their salary. Those deductions are part of the affordability picture: we include them when we test whether your income now covers your original instalments.
The quicker exit when your accounts are already paid
If every short-term account on your plan is settled, you do not need a court at all. A Section 71 clearance certificate (Form 19) is issued by a registered debt counsellor and sent to the credit bureaus and the National Credit Regulator. It costs from R2,900 and is typically issued within 14 to 21 working days. Your bond can stay in place.
If accounts are still open but affordable, our panel attorney applies to court instead. That route starts from R6,500 and typically takes 2 to 3 months.

Is this a scam? How to tell a lawful removal
- Only a Section 71 clearance certificate from a registered debt counsellor, or a court order, can remove a debt review flag. A promise of removal in days without either is not lawful.
- You should get the exact fee in writing after your assessment and approve it before any work starts.
- The National Credit Regulator does not process removals over WhatsApp. We use WhatsApp to collect documents and answer questions; the removal itself is a certificate sent to the bureaus or a court order.
- Check any provider's registration before paying. Ours is NCRDC2403 — search it on www.ncr.org.za.
