Debt Review Removal — Stellenbosch | Western Cape

Stellenbosch sits at the heart of the Cape Winelands' wine and export-farming economy, alongside a large university. For many local families, farmworkers and hospitality staff, seasonal income swings are what pushed them into debt review. Whether you finished your plan or your income has steadied, we get you off the register lawfully.

Warning

Debt review removal is not an administrative update. A credit bureau may only remove the flag on a Section 71 clearance certificate or a court order. Anyone offering to "remove the flag overnight" without one of those is operating outside the National Credit Act.

Harvest season, tourism and an uneven year

Wine-farm, cellar and tasting-room work peaks at harvest and over the summer tourist season and drops in winter. A magistrate will only end debt review early if you can carry your original instalments in the quiet months too, so we use a full year of statements.

If the numbers hold, our panel attorney applies to the Stellenbosch Magistrate's Court for most local addresses. From R6,500, typically 2 to 3 months.

University staff and steady salaries

Stellenbosch University and the businesses around it employ many people on fixed salaries. That is the simplest income to put before a court, and often the quickest path to an order once your finances have recovered.

Cloetesville, Kayamandi and Idas Valley residents with settled accounts

If every account on your plan is paid, a Section 71 clearance certificate removes the flag — no court. From R2,900, typically 14 to 21 working days.

Is this a scam? How to tell a lawful removal

  • Only a Section 71 clearance certificate from a registered debt counsellor, or a court order, can remove a debt review flag. A promise of removal in days without either is not lawful.
  • You should get the exact fee in writing after your assessment and approve it before any work starts.
  • The National Credit Regulator does not process removals over WhatsApp. We use WhatsApp to collect documents and answer questions; the removal itself is a certificate sent to the bureaus or a court order.
  • Check any provider's registration before paying. Ours is NCRDC2403 — search it on www.ncr.org.za.

A Section 71 clearance certificate is typically issued within 14 to 21 working days of a complete document pack. A court-led removal typically takes 2 to 3 months, depending on the roll at the Stellenbosch Magistrate's Court.

No. Our only office is in Kempton Park, Gauteng. Stellenbosch clients are handled entirely by WhatsApp, phone and email, and our panel attorney deals with the court for you, so you never need to travel.

Yes, if a full year of income covers your original instalments and living costs, winter included.

Yes, remotely. We confirm the right court for your address before filing.

A Section 165 rescission is brought in the court that granted the original debt review order, not the court nearest your new home. If your order came from another town's court, that is where our attorney files — you do not need to attend either way. If no order was ever granted, a Section 87 application goes to the court with jurisdiction over where you live now.
